About Kate Owen

I graduated from Ithaca College in May 2001 with a degree in Art History. Throughout high school and college I pursued an interest in photography and completed a minor in Still Photography. I have experimented with various formats including 35mm, medium format, large format and most recently digital.

The photographs here reflect a range of interests and subjects. I have always been an observer and often want to record what I see. When photographing people I often look to capture facial expressions and human interactions. As an art history major I was most interested in architecture which I have explored in many of my photographs.

I also spent a semester studying at Ithaca College's London Center in the spring of 2000. Taking advantage of London's close proximity to Europe, I visited France, Italy, the Czech Repulic, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland and Wales. As you will probably notice the bulk of the images on the travel section of this site are of places in Italy. This is because it was the place I enjoyed most. I will continue to add new photographs in the coming weeks and months.

Thanks for visiting my site.
